TNN Music City News

Vocal Band Of The Year For 1996 Is

Sawyer Brown

The 1996 TNN Music City News Country Awards was a show made in heaven for all Sawyer Brown fans. To kick-start the event the band was joined on stage by Mark's childhood heros, the Beach Boys. Their performance of I Get Around brought the crowd to its feet and fans screaming in the balcony...and that was just the beginning. Then our very own Mark Miller co-hosted the evening festivities with Lorrie Morgan and Martina McBride. Though we are still waiting for official confirmation, we believe that Mark was the first male host ever to appear with bare legs.

Sawyer Brown fans showed their continued dedication by casting votes that gave the band their fourth consecutive title as TNN Music City News Vocal Band of the Year. Upon approaching the podium a joking Hobie offered his award as a trade-in on a pair of long jeans for Mark. Later in the broadcast Mark found himself in an unplanned tight spot. While waiting for an absent Willie Nelson to appear on stage, Mark filled in by singing the Oscar Meyer song...all in a day's work for a trained professional.

A Big Success!

Sawyer Brown's Fan Club Breakfast

Jackie Combs the Fan Club President, would like to thank everyone who attended the seventh Annual Sawyer Brown Fan Club Breakfast. Your attendance helped make this the most successful and most memorable Fan Club gathering yet! Hosted by Maxwell House in Nashville on June 10th the event drew over six hundred and thirty people.

The morning event allowed the guys to get up-close and personal with their fans, while signing autographs, having their pictures taken and visiting briefly with new and old friends. Once again the breakfast highlight was a 45 minute performance by the band.

Tentative plans for next year's Fan Club Breakfast include moving the location to the country home of Jackie Combs. Plan to attend!
